What’s in My Humidor

The idea behind “Whats in My Humidor” is to literally give you an inventory of exactly what cigars i keep on hand regularly  Its always intrigued me to see what cigar smokers actually have at home in their personal humidor.  Once again, I have a particular preference toward certain brands, but I still want to share my reasoning behind keeping certain cigars readily available. Hopefully this will give you some ideas on how to keep a well-balanced supply of smokes for all your “cigar times”.

My Home Humidor

Lets start with my actual humidor. I have owned several size humidors over the years. I consolidated all of them when I was given the gift of my current 500 count humidor. It is an actual piece of furniture that more than fits my needs. I attached pictures below. You can see that I use “the cigar Oasis XL” for my humidification. This item is priceless. You add distilled water to it periodically and then it does all the work. There’s a built-in digital gauge that shows the exact humidity level. This has helped me keep the environment consistent inside and great cigars has been the result.

Current Inventory:
1) Padron 3000, 5000, and 6000 – keep these on my top shelf because I smoke these more regularly and like to have easy acces to them.
2) San cristobal elegancia – These are more on the lighter side for me, but I enjoy them accessible on the first rack too. Big fan of the flavor and smoke regualry.
3) Wango Tango – I was introduced to these recently by the original owner. He was nice enough to give me one of his last boxes. Very solid smoke. Have gotten great feedback from my friends when they’ve tried them recently. Unfortunately, these will be tough to find.
4) Padron 1964 Anniversary – I keep a couple these on my second shelf at all times. Definitely a pricer smoke but totally worth it when you want that step up from the ordinary. Full flavor and strength.
5) Ashton VSG – Another cigar that I really enjoy but dont smoke too regularly. I like to keep a couple on the second level for a special occasion.
6) Opus X (Various sizes) – I like to buy these over time. I’ve built up a nice little collection that are always there if i really want a great smoke. Usually has to be a really good reason.
7) Davidoff Anniversary – A great smoke. More of a special occasion cigar as well. Very well made and awesome flavor.
8) Alec Bradley Prenasado – I always look forward to the top 10 cigars of the year (from Cigar Aficionado magazine). This was #1 in 2011 so I had to buy a couple and keep on hand.
9) Brickhouse- This is a more reasonably priced cigar but pretty good. Usually in the smaller robusto size for guests that want a smoke but don’t enjoy the stronger ones.
10) La Aurora 2004 limited – My father purchased a box of these from one of our local shops that always has special more rare varieties of cigars. Great smoke.
11) Monte Cristo torpedos – I dont smoke a lot of these but always have them for others. A lot of people still enjoy them and know the name.
12)Partagas black – have a few that I purchased and a couple that were gifts. consistent stronger smoke.
13) San Cristobal- I have a couple in the larger sizes. Great when you want a solid strong smoke.
14) My father – I was a huge fan initially when these came out. Not as obsessed now but still keep them for when I want a little better smoke. Have a good punch too them and very well made.
15) Miscellaneous bottom shelf….  this is where I keep random cigars I get from others or when I buy cheaper bundles. There are some holiday cigars(St. Patricks Day) and a few other varieties.
