The Perdomo name has consistently demanded respect in the cigar world. I used to smoke them often in my early cigar smoking days, but for whatever reason I haven’t had one in years. I was given the new Perdomo 20th Anniversary by a good friend (and SmokeThoughts follower) Greg.
The size I tried was the Gordo..a big 6×60 stick. I decided to take the cigar with me on a beautiful golf day where I knew I’d have plenty of time to enjoy the entire cigar. The cigar has a beautiful sun grown wrapper that remind me of many cuban cigars I’ve had in the past. It has a slight box press which I tend to prefer in most of my cigars as well. From the first puff I really enjoyed the flavor and balance of this smoke.
The construction was very nice and the draw was very easy. This smoke is a nicaraguan puro (Only nicaraguan tabacco used) but it is much smoother than a lot of the other popular brands from the country. I enjoyed the entire cigar from start to finish.
In conclusion…JK recommends. This is a great smoke for fans of big ring gauges and those looking for a tasty smooth smoke to try. Priced around $9-$10 at most retailers.
