I just recently tried the newer version of this cigar…the La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Reserva (Click here to see more). I really enjoyed the new blend so much.. that I wanted to go back and compare it to the original/older blend.

The Mi Amor has consistently received stellar ratings from the most respected cigar publications (Check my Top Ten page here). Cigar Aficionado ranked the La Aroma de Cuba Mi Amor Belicoso as the #2 cigar in their 2011 rankings. I have been a big fan of the smoke since the first one I lit. It has the same charateristics of many of my favorite cigars.
The Cigar has a dark maduro wrapper and a beautiful band. There is a very classic look to this cigar, but also an elegance. The size that I prefer most is the Belicoso, which is box pressed and very well constructed. Within the first few puffs you can already taste the nicaraguan tobacco that is packed inside.
I really enjoy this smoke after the first inch. It has a consistent strength and burns perfectly. There is some great spiciness to the smoke without being overwhelming. I love when you can enjoy a cigar to the end. I hate when you have to put it out too early, but some smokes get hot and/or bitter. This is one that you will get your money’s worth out of!
In conclusion….JK highly recommends this smoke. It has a very reasonable price (around $8-$9) that also makes it appealing to the medium-full bodied cigar smoker.
